Amy Grant - Interview Cafe

August 4th, 2008  |  Published in Interview Cafe  |  14 Comments

Amy Grant made her debut in 1977 and scored her first No. 1 Christian radio hit two years later. In 1982, she released her breakthrough album, “Age to Age,” which became the first contemporary Christian music album to be certified platinum. By 1985, her music began to reach a wider audience when her album “Unguarded” crossed over onto mainstream charts.

She has won six Grammy Awards, 21 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and had the first Christian album ever to go platinum. Amy was so kind to spend some time with us right after a concert here at the Broadmoor Hotel.

The concert was a fundraiser for a wonderful organization called Challenge Aspen. For more information about Challenge Aspen, please visit their website at: http://www.challengeaspen.org.

And now, the Interview Cafe features Amy Grant

Amy Grant is so genuine and warm, and your interview with her is great! She’s such a great role model and someone I’ve been a fan of for years.

It’s so obvious that Amy Grant just adores Vince Gill. I don’t ever really recall her talking about her other husband in the same manner. It’s so nice to see her seeming so care free and feeling loved and adored. Isn’t that what everyone wants. Having seen her grow as a person over the years, I can honestly say that this seems to be the best time of her life. It’ll be most interesting to see her grow older, as she seems to have only gotten better with time. What a great and amazing person she is…a true blessing!

Amy Grant is truly an amaxing woman with so much talent and many trials and tributions that she has had to encounter in the past few years. She certainly seems more at peace with herself and her life with Vince and her children. I had the great opportunity to meet, get an autograph and picture with Amy with my 2 young daughters on the Michael W. Smith Caribbean Cruise. I told Amy how we had some things in common as we are around the same age and married husbands named Vince with our youngest daughters being the same age. She laughed and said to me that Vince is such a romantic name. This truly explained how much in love she is with her husband as I am with mine. Thanks Amy for the memories. Many blessings to you and your family always!

    Musically yours,
    Karen

Love Amy, I’ve been inspired by her since the year of the flood. She was one of the artist whom inspired me to venture out and record my own projects. I still have the scrap book that came inside one of her albums and I’ll treasure it forever.

Amy’s a strong woman and has been through so much. It’s great to see her happy and beaming with love for Vince. Blessings to you both and I hope you feel better Vince. I know what a back problem is and it’s no laughing matter.

Loved the interview. Great job!! Can’t wait to see Amy in concert again. Her concerts never get old.

Amy come back to New York!!!

    With Much Love,
    Ida

I think it says a lot about Vince as a person that he would make that arduous cross-country trip to honor his commitment to Challenge Aspen in spite of being disabled with a painful back injury. My son has been involved with Challenge Aspen programs in the past, so I know what a difference it makes in the lives of special needs and handicapped individuals. Thanks Amy and Vince for your compassion and for the giving hearts you have had through the years. Blessings to you and to your family.
